The Gladstone Hotel is a favorite place for shooting movies, videos, T.V. and film. The building is a Toronto landmark and a fine example of Victorian Hotel architecture with outstanding original features and details both inside and out. The Hotel was designed in 1889 by renowned Toronto architect, George Miller, in a style popular for public buildings such as train depots, churches, and libraries of the period. The architectural style of the Gladstone is characterized by the rough cut stone and brick and by the dramatic arches over the windows and porch entrances. The exterior of the hotel boasts several interesting gargoyles and unique lettering incorporated into the exterior facade.
